COLE, Delbert F.— Of Guelph, passed away, peacefully, at St. Joseph’s Health Centre, Palliative Care Unit, Guelph, Ontario, on Saturday, April 9, 2011, at the age of 86 years. Delbert was born March 20, 1925, in Erin Township, Ontario. He was the beloved husband of Margaret (nee Cracknell) Cole. Delbert was the proud father to Martha Schuett and her husband Bill of Guelph, David of Hamilton, and Thomas and his partner Michelle Gosney of Middle Sackville, NS. He was the loving grandfather to Karl and his wife Mira, Greg, Tara, Patrick, Jack,Nicholasand Sarah, and great-grandfather to Hudson. Delbert was the dear brother of Lena and Doreen. He was predeceased by his brothers Jack, Walter and Edwin, and by his sister Ruth. Delbert will be fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews. He was a kind, patient and loving gentleman, who was accepting of everyone. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Dublin Chapel, 252 Dublin St. N., Guelph, on Thursday, April 14, 2011 from 12 to 1 p.m. A Memorial Service will follow in the chapel at 1 p.m. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Homewood Volunteer Association or to the charity of one’s choice would be appreciated by the family (cards available at funeral home 519-822-4731 or send condolences to www.gilbertmacintyreandson.com ). The family would like to express their appreciation to staff at St. Joseph’s Health Centre, Palliative Care Unit, for their care and compassion. A tree will be planted in memory of Delbert Cole in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest, The Arboretum, University of Guelph and at the Memorial Trail, Rockwood Conservation Area, Rockwood.
