SIEKMANS, Irena - Irena Siekmans went to be with her Lord on July 24th, 2010. She is survived by her husband, John, her children, Deb with son Kevin, Kimberly married to David Seeley with daughters Laura and Hannah and John married to Kendra. Irena was born to Bill (deceased) and Anne Bedrij on May 21st, 1946 with sisters Luba married to Ken Hogg with 4 children and Nancy married to Myron Gackstetter with 2 children. Irena came to Canada as a young girl living in Sackville, New Brunswick and later settling in Oakville and then Guelph. Irena lived a life of help giving of herself as an example of her faith in Jesus Christ. Her spirited enthusiasm for life was an inspiration and most of all an encouragement to the many hurting people she met. With creativity, compassion and a young heart, she loved everything and everyone. Her kids would like to express their gratitude to their dad who lived an example of selfless love, taking care of mom at home until the end of her battle against ALS. Friends will be received at the Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon Street, Guelph, on Tuesday, July 27, 2010 from 1-3 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, July 28th at 1 p.m. in the Chapel. Cremation to take place. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the ALS Society of Ontario would be appreciated by the family
